Directory Placements Nice One WebRing!!!! - 06/07/2006
I have just noticed a major alteration as to how rings are placed in the directory.

Uniqueness rating 100 at the top

Uniqueness rating 0 at the bottom.

This is fantastic as it clearly favours those managers who like to upmanage their uniqueness ratinfs where possible.

It is a change, yes, and we're glad it's appreciated.

"Uniqueness" is one factor in placement. So is connectedness. It's a combined "score" that is used for placement. The Green, black and red coding is a reflection of that as well. Always has been in fact.

A continuing process of trying to give well run Rings as much positive reinforcement and exposure as possible.

Something else I have noticed which could be a positive thing.

Not all rings are now being listed in the directory. In some categories I have noticed substantial numbers missing.

Is there now a requirement that all rings must be active to actually have a place in the directory? ie. actually receiving traffic.

If so, are you planning the removal from the system of all rings that are proven to be inactive over a predetermined length of time?
